I am so glad you are here. I believe that good health in all aspects of our lives, physical and emotional is the cornerstone of any comprehensive and holistic health program. When your body and mind work the way nature intended, your spirit soars--and so do you. Even more importantly, when we are living in alignment with our truest potential and fullest expressions of ourselves on this planet, we will thrive!
Unfortunately, most people are living in a chronic state of stress, pain and shame. This was me. I have struggled my entire adult life with extra weight, fatigue, muscle aches and pains, low thyroid, food allergies as well as severe clinical depression. In the process of trying to get rid of my pain and "fix myself", I tried many different allopathic and alternative routes to support myself. It is a daily journey that is constantly evolving and transforming. Now I am helping others on a similar health journey looking for a supportive tribe in their transformation to a healthier and happier life. One of self acceptance and self nurturing and designed on their terms. I am a trained Bowen Therapist and Mind Body Eating Coach. My passion is helping those who struggle with chronic stress, pain and body shame to transform the relationship with their bodies and with food so they can live an authentically, happy and meaningful life today instead of always waiting for 'someday'.

I use an effective combination of both Bowen Therapy and Mind Body Eating Coaching to help people connect with their bodies and get grounded in awareness of their own healing capabilities. When people really connect with themselves and are empowered, real transformation can occur.
The Bowen technique (BowTech) is a dynamic system of muscle and connective tissue therapy that was developed by the late Tom Bowen in Geelong, Australia. This holistic technique utilizes small movements that stimulate the body’s own natural resources to restore and rebalance itself.
The Bowen technique offers tremendous benefits to clients by stimulating the body's innate healing mechanisms. It results in the relief of many specific injuries and other health problems, both acute and chronic. The practitioner delivers signals to the nervous system at specific locations (on muscle, tendons, ligaments or nerves), and the body does the rest, responding in its own time, as it is able. This new technique is fast becoming recognized as amazingly transformational in its healing capabilities. The technique is appropriate for everyone, from newborns to the very elderly and frail. Highly trained athletes benefit from it, as do pregnant women, each according to need.
How does Bowtech Work?
In a nutshell, Bowen empowers the body to heal itself. It works primarily through the nervous system on both structural and energetic levels to help shift the body from sympathetic to parasympathetic dominance (into rest, relax and repair mode).
Most people today live in constant stress and sympathetic ANS over-stimulation; therefore, the body does not have space to heal and restore itself to optimum levels and so we continue to run ‘half empty’.
A Bowen Therapy session is usually 45-60 minutes depending on individual needs. The moves are gentle but purposeful. The most relaxing way for people to experience bowen is on a table. Treatments are typically one week apart depending on needs. Bowen will continue to integrate over a period of time and it’s essential to give the body space to do this. It is suggested not to have other manipulative treatments such as chiropractic or massage within 3 days (before or after a bowen session) as it may interrupt the benefits of bowen. Bowen moves can be performed through light weight clothing so wear shorts/leggings and t-shirt to a session.
The majority of people can agree that diets just don't work! If they were going to, they would have by now. Weight loss and true health, have a mind of it's own. Seriously! It has your mind, your body, your circumstances, your beliefs and your struggles. Every body is different. There is more to good health then just what we feed ourselves daily. Of course, this does have an impact for sure but it helps to have our mindset in a positive and grounded frame first.
When we sub-conciously "hate" and "bully" our bodies into a specific weight or shape through restrictive dieting, self shaming and intense and prolonged exercising that we don't like, a stress response is created in the body. If we are operating in this constant physiological stress response state, the body cannot lose weight because it's in survival mode. You could eat the healthiest meals and still not lose weight. Stress is a major factor in extra weight carried. Unfortunately, we cannot avoid stress but we can find better strategies for navigating through it when it presents.
